We will only be able to administer medication if it is essential to do so during the school day.
Pupils cannot carry any medication of any kin unless it is written into a care plan or requested by a G.P.
If your child needs prescription medication, it is important that a parent/carer accompanies the child to school with the medication and completes the appropriate consent form - the medication must be in the original container which shows the child's name and dosage.
If your child needs a non-prescription durg (i.e. paracemtamol etc.) you must complete the appropriate form and the medication must be clearly labelled or in the original container stating name, dosage and timing.
It will be the pupil's responsibility to go to the office to obtain the medication and to self administer.
If it is recorded that your child may need medication - they must bring the medication for any school activities otherwise they will not be able to participate in the school trip/visit.
All medical information held in school records must be kept up to date
A copy of the request form is available from the school office or can be downloaded here. |
